She self-released albums, directed music videos (Sebadoh "Ocean", Eric's Trip "Viewmaster", Thrush Hermit "French Inhale" etc) and made artwork under the nickname that her grandfather gave her Laura Borealis. Her DIY writing and recording practice has evolved into a career in music producing for others including Alden Penner (Unicorns).
